Litsey Leon Zellner

He was raised in Ardmore, by his parents John Litsey and Fannie Elizabeth Zellner, where he grew to love the land and working on the family dairy farm. He graduated as valedictorian of Plainview High School in 1952. Leon went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Oklahoma State University and a master’s in sanitary science from the University of Oklahoma.He began his 30-year career as a sanitarian with state health department and retired as a Navy Captain and Level-6 Commissioned Core Officer in the Public Health Service. He served as Regional Director of the Radiological Health Program of the FDA, and also spent years working with FEMA. His Public Health Service uniform is displayed in Ardmore’s Greater Southwest Historical Museum. Leon’s work took him and his family all over the country, from Ardmore, Guymon, Norman, and Oklahoma City, to Gaithersburg, Md.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Atlanta, Ga.; Great Falls, Va; Nashville, Tenn.; Hanover Park, Ill.; and Richardson, Texas; before he finally retired to his beloved home in Carter County. He was happiest working the land and sharing time, as well as an ornery sense of humor, with his family, who adored him. He also loved spending time with friends at the local donut shop and Lone Grove Senior Center, and made a daily practice of it.Leon is survived by Beverly Ann Zellner, his loving wife of 62 years; his sister Elizabeth Saylors;  his four children: Cathy Lee Masella, Terri Lynne Willis, Susan Elizabeth Zellner-Hall, and John Matthew Zellner; nine grandchildren: Joshua, Anthony, and Justin Masella; Christopher Willis; Sarah and Jonathan Hall; and Matthew, Mallory, and John Zellner; and 14 great-grandchildren: Avaleigh, Jackson, Genevieve, Kealand, Haley, Dakota, Mariella, Beverly, George and Sophia Masella; Madeline and Lakeston Willis; and Jaden and Josalyn Carbajol. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, John Litsey and Fannie Elizabeth Zellner, sisters, Mona Wood and Martha May Rudd; and his precious grandson, Nicholas David Willis...

Vicki E. Smith

Smith are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, in the House of Prayer church with Pastor Larry Murray officiating. The family will host a visitation from 6-7 Wednesday evening at the Craddock Funeral Home.  Vicki was born Sept. 17, 1954 in Maywood, Calif. to Clyde Chester Smith and Lillian Maxine (Brown) Smith. She passed this life on Sept. 20, 2018 in a Norman hospital. Vicki received her master’s degree in education and taught school at Oak Hall Episcopal school in the Montessori School. She recently had started volunteering at Cross Timbers Hospice as an entertainer. She is survived by her three siblings and their families; Brother, Steve Smith and his wife Lisa of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Brother, Tim Smith and his wife Kimberley of Lone Grove. Sister, Karen Ford and her husband Jeff of Hodgen, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lillian Smith.Pallbearers are Jeremy Smith, Kevin McCartney, Levi McCartney, Tim Smith, Steve Smith and Kweschun Smith. William “Bill” Everett Capshaw

He passed from this life on Sept. 12, 2018, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 67, surrounded by his family.Bill spent the first part of his life getting into mischief with his older and younger brothers. After graduating from Ardmore High School, the last draft finally caught him and he was sent to the DMZ in Korea. Upon completing his tour he returned home and eventually attended OU.  While attending OU, he met his wife, Lori Merrill, and they were married on June 6, 1981. After finishing school, the couple returned to Ardmore where Bill worked at his family store, Texhoma Office Supply. He later worked at EJ where he retired in 2016.Bill continued to serve his country as part of the Oklahoma National Guard 1245th and 1345th companies and served in operations Desert Storm, Desert Shield, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. Bill retired from the Guard in 2004 as Sergeant First Class.He is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Iva Lou Capshaw. Bill is survived by his wife, Lori; daughters, Megan Willitzer of Ardmore, and husband, Joel currently stationed in South Korea; Anne Capshaw-Howard and husband, Casey of Ada; Son, Evan Capshaw of Ardmore; Brothers, Robert Capshaw of Edmond, and Phillip Capshaw and wife, Dana of Ardmore; Grandchildren, Ethan Willitzer, Violet Willitzer and Seraphina Howard and other family and friends.Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore, with Rev. David Daniel officiating. Family visitation will be Monday, Sept. 17 from 6-7 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
